Insurance
Students are enrolled in a student insurance program with the ABMP. The fee is determined by the ABMP. The insurance fee is in addition to any other tuition or fee associated with the university. Enrollment is undertaken during the first week of class at Hired Hands International University. If a student fails to enroll in the ABMP insurance program as provided by the university they will not be allowed to continue in the program. Enrollment in the insurance program as a student, transfers to a professional policy as provided by ABMP.
Re-admission to the Program
If a student has been terminated from the program, either voluntarily or involuntarily, he/she may apply to re-enroll in a new program by following the admissions procedure. All re-enrolled students are evaluated by the president of the university prior to their admission. Students who reapply for admission are subject to any curriculum change or tuition fees in effect at the time of re-admission. If a student is dismissed for behavioral, ethical, legal or professional reasons; the student may appeal to the University Director for re-admittance upon successful completion of an external program of remediation that has been approved by the University Director.
*The University Director retains the sole discretion regarding the re-admittance of students that have been dismissed.
**All application files are property of Hired Hand International University.
Transfer Students
Transfer students must meet all of the standard admission requirements as listed above, including fees. Appropriate credits from an accredited college, university or approved post-secondary school may be accepted if the performance criteria are accepted as paralleling a University course. The president of the university will determine academic credit for prior courses. A student requesting transfer credit must do so in writing and provide a course description and official transcript from the previous course, for approval and should be done so during the application process.
*The university reserves the right to require an evaluation or examination, which may result in an additional fee for approval.

Continuing Education Courses
Hired Hands International University prides itself of its level of commitment to offering quality continuing educations workshops. Students receive continuing education hours and a certificate for completing workshops. There are no refunds or certificates for partial attendance to these workshops. Workshops are open to the public; please check individual course descriptions and prerequisites for each seminar.
Orientation
Orientation is held the first day of class. Students will have the opportunity to meet one another and learn about the culture of the university. Each student will also receive a copy of the student manual.
Attendance Policy
Learning requires consistent attendance; therefore, student attendance will be stressed and viewed as a sign of students’s personal commitment to their own goals and professionalism. Students with poor attendance will be asked to review their commitment before enrolling in subsequent session or workshops/seminars. Your instructor should be notified of any absence by leaving a message at Hired Hands International University. The unexplained absence of a student from Hired Hands International University for more than seven school days of any term shall constitute constructive notice of withdrawal of the University. For purposes of withdrawal, the date used shall be the last day in attendance.
If students miss more than three school days in any term and/or seminar portion on an instructional day the may, with permission of instructors and administration, continue in the program provided they agree to undertake tutorial instruction over the material missed. There is an additional fee of $25 per hour for individualized tutorial instruction for hours missed beyond the three days, and/or seminar instruction.
Due to the condensed nature of the program students are not allowed leaves of absence from the program unless mandated by law (i.e. call up for active military duty, etc.) All leaves must be documented through legally required means. Students granted a lawful leave will be allowed to reenter the program in the next available session upon their return.
Cutting of a class is determined to be an absence. Furthermore, the attendance requirements of the program are “program inclusive” and not for individual course. Therefore, remedial work begins with eh fifth and subsequent unexcused absence in any course, not just the course that was missed. As an example, you miss one anatomy and physiology class, one holistic health class, and two personal development classes. You then miss a massage technique class. You will be required to remediate the massage class and pay the additional fees associated with their remedial instruction. Any additional unexcused missed classes will be handled in the same manner. An excused absence for medical reason requires medical documentation. An excused absence for any other reason must have the prior permission of the University Director. The student must document all excused absences in writing.
Students who have accumulated ten unexcused missed classes will face attendance dismissal from the University. A student with six absences will require a mandatory meeting with the Education Director and the University Director. A compliance agreement will be established regarding remedial work completion, additional fees per University catalog, and the fact that four additional non-excused absences will result in the student’s dismissal.
Being punctual corresponds to developing professional work habits of being on time for appointments as massage therapists. Therefore, tardiness is not acceptable. Students are considered tardy if they are fifteen minutes late for a class meeting. Four tardies will result in the assigning to the student an absence. These absences will be applied to the absences in the above absence policy as unexcused.
Additionally, students are considered absent if they leave class more than thirty minutes before it is scheduled to end and tardy if they leave within the last thirty minutes of class. If a student is absent for a class period for either an unexcused or excused absence, they will be required to complete additional homework that documents their review of the material that was covered for any missed class. The nature of the homework documentation is to be determined by the individual professor assigned t that course. It is the student’s responsibility to request the additional homework.
Financial Notation:
If a student is dismissed for poor academic performance or for attendance reasons, the University will retain the allowable percentage as determined by the student’s last day of attendance per the University policy, as applied to the Department of Education refund Policy.
Additionally, as part of the Attendance Policy students are expected to dress in a casual professional manner while attending classes and a professional manner when undertaking internship and practicum experiences.
Grading Policy
All core courses and workshops/seminars are graded on a Pass/Fail basis. To achieve a pass in any core course or workshop/seminar a student must earn seventy-five percent. Students who achieve a ninety percent and above will receive distinctions on their diplomas of Graduation with Honors.
*If a student is failing a course at the end of the completion of studies (less than 75% course average) a meeting will be held with the Education Director and the University President to determine if the student should be allowed to challenge course assessment. If the assessment is allowed and the student fails the challenge course assessment, the diploma will not be awarded. At the university’s discretion, the student may be allowed to repeat any course in which he/she received a failing grade in the next scheduled session. *There is a tuition fee for retaking a course.
